FauxReal Rocks & Waterfalls
What is it?
All our rocks are made of highly modified cement for strength and durability. FauxReal Waterscapes strives to create original and realistic waterscapes. To do this we use two processes; Hand carved and fiberglass reinforced concrete rock castings.
What is the cost?
Due to our original and one of a kind designs, all of our water features and rock scapes are priced based on individual desires and needs.
How long does it last?
Our rock consists of an acrylic modified cement. Cement last for centuries. Over time exposed concrete will weather and need to be maintained for longer life.
How is it stained & sealed?
We use two staining techniques on our rock. The two consists of a water based 100% silicon acrylic concrete stain and the other is acid stains. Both achieve naturalistic looks and are used regularly in all of our designs. Our sealers are both strong and uv resistant. Based on the individual tastes, the rocks need re-stain and reseal from 3 years to 5 years.
Does it work inside the House?
Yes, Artificial rock is widely used inside as well as out. Rock showers, kitchen islands, and counter tops are some of the applications that FauxReal Waterscapes regularly installs.
What are the capabilities?
The applications are endless. If your looking to remodel your existing pool or even build new, FauxReal Waterscapes can create caves, grottos, wine cellars, slides, etc. The best part is that we can create any color and style of rock from all over the world.
What are the advantages of artificial rock compared to genuine rock?
Artificial rock has no limits. Size, shapes, styles, colors are all examples of advantages over real rock. Natural rock is hard to move and extremely heavy. Based on those two factors artificial rock created by FauxReal Waterscapes will always come out on top.
FauxReal Hard Decking
What is it?
The surfacing product that we use is a 100% acrylic cement. This is an overlay system. It is hand trowelled and textured by our skilled artesian to create the effect you're looking for. It adheres to all concrete as well as pool decks, driveways, patios, showers, tile, tables... just about anything.
What is the cost?
The price will range from $5.50 to $7.50 depending on the style and application. There are price breaks for larger sized jobs.
What to do about existing cracks?
The existing cracks are cut out about a 1/4" and filled with a very high psi two part epoxy, then covered with a flexible epoxy. This is to allow the acrylic to move when the concrete expands and contracts.
How long does it last?
All applications are different based on the variables. Normally the coating will last for years to come. Some jobs have been installed for over 10 years and there is no sign of delamination. It boils down to maintenance. The more time you spend on keeping it clean and free of dirt, the longer it will last.
What about those ugly control joints?
Control joints are in place so that the concrete has places to expand and contract when hot and cold. We honor all control joints.
When do I reseal?
The sealer lasts about six years, but we recommend resealing every two to three years. If the customer likes shiny floors then they would want to seal more regular.
Does it work inside the house?
The answer is YES! It's a great way to increase your house value without spending a fortune. Cover your formica counter tops, tile walls, shower walls... The opportunities are endless...
How do I clean it?
Using mild detergent soaps and cleaners is the best for clean up. Using a broom scrub in the cleaner and scrub out the dirt.
